These last few weeks have been like a roller coaster.
God is constantly proving His love for me.
A few weeks ago, Pastor Grant mentioned my trip to Australia in the Varsity room at 180. He told them my great need financially and my willingness to go whether I saw the money when I left or not. That night we talked about our identities, prayed and dismissed. As people were beginning to head for the buses a student walked up to me and handed me everything he had in his wallet: 2 bucks. He said it wasn't much, but he knew that every penny counted, especially with 'stuff like this'. I started to deny it, thinking that he needed this small amount more than I needed Ramon noodles in July...because that is probably what it would be used for. But then God reminded me not to despise small beginnings. He reminded me of what a joy it is to give and that this was just as much about him learning that as it was about God's call being paid for. And with tears filled to the brim of my eyes I hugged him and thanked him for the sacrifice.I told him it would go to my account, and I would make sure it went to good use. He flashed me a grin and scurried to the buses.
A few weeks later a lady wrote me a check for $50. I was so grateful, but it didn't mean half as much to me as those 2 dollars did. He paved the way for a flood of financial out pour. People are writing me checks every time I pull into church. Cash is coming through the mail. I'm not asking for it. Other people are asking for me.
When God wills you to do something, He is responsible for paying for it. It is not my job because ultimately this is not about me. This is about the body of Christ working together to see hearts softened and changed. This is about God using me as a pipeline to get the gospel in countries Riverside Church will never step foot on. He created me to be the go-er and them the senders. I am just the feet. That is all. What a beautiful picture of the church at work.
I feel honored to be a part of this big picture.

just kidding
the visa didn't go in the mail. I checked my checklist and I have things yet to be checked that I didn't know I had to do. certified documents are a HUGE hassle. My visa will never get sent. I'll have to live in this creamcicle bedroom for 4 more years. Sometimes you just want to suckerpunch something. Right now, all I can think about is suckerpunching my Visa. I feel a bit hopeless this evening. And I have a ton of other things to think about.
Things to think about:
-- me and cait still need a song for the benefit that is 3 weeks away
--i need hours at disney next week.
--mandarin garden never called me back so that I could confirm that we are borrowing 12 (not 10) of their teapots tomorrow night.
--i have no costume for the asian themed worker's banquet. the egg roll costume just never happened.
--my laundry is probably starting to smell(not that I can smell it, because I'm sick...but i'm sure dad isn't real thrilled by it's aroma)
--i don't want to do ANYTHING for a full day. but that just breeds laziness and then nothing will get done. I wish I woke up with more energy.
--there's probably a ton of things to do on my riverside desk tomorrow
--i hate the clutter in my room
--i have to pick up the pictures from walgreens tomorrow
--i need to sleep a little
--gosh, I really just want to please Jesus.

pay pal has progressed!
I now have an up and functioning pay pal account. Send me money if you please :)
Updates: My visa is finished. It goes in the mail in about 35 minutes.
I made a few more future student friends who are going to be frugal in Sydney and that is exciting because we can hold each other accountable with our buying habits...So basically I have to hold off on chai more often and they have to know that.
Certified copies is just a professional way of saying make copies of legal documents.
It sounded SO professional. I didn't think I was just supposed to slap my diploma on any old printer and press 'GO'. It seemed more like a challenge. More like a hassle. It sounded like notaries were necessary. Go figure. Thanks Angie for the info.
The benefit plans seem to be shaping up. Singing with my friends all the time is a plus. The food sounds good. The invites are in the mail. Jenni is selling tickets. I am twiddling my thumbs.
Life is productive today.

FYI
The nifty new widget to this post's right is powered by a little company called pay pal. Here's the relevant FYI: although it sends you to my name, it doesn't send you to my bank account...which means you can't donate yet. So don't get your panties in a ruffle, I will attach some form of money catcher to it soon. I just want to scope out my massive Australian options first. okay, much love to you all on this rainy Monday early morning.

welcome to my journey

thanks for reading. and if you're reading then you probably care about my well being, so thanks for that too.
this is my blog about adventures in traveling. adventures in emotion. adventures in bible college.
Hillsong International Leadership College.
I've been accepted, my visa is half finished, half of my facebook friends go to school with me (and I can't read half of their profiles because they are from other countries with other languages), and I have a list of possible houses. I feel great and I feel a bit overwhelmed. But this is pretty fun too.
